Phew... my second ever digital painting. This thing was a beast to finish. Originally, I intended it to be just a character reference for my OC Exosteel, buuuut I had so much fun working on it I decided to turn it into something more.

So, here we have the intrepid Michael Keach, a.k.a Exosteel, taking a shortcut... through a wall. Why is he armed to the teeth? Well, partly because of who he's hunting and partly because of the nature of his powers. He is invulnerable, every inch of him, and his left arm, encased in cryogenic armor, is also super strong. However, the disease that gives him his abilities (and has already consumed said left arm) must be held in check, for if it spreads to far, it will begin to affect his mind as well as disfigure his body.

That, in fact, is the very fate that met his one-time friend Johnathan Monroe, now known as the fearsome mutated monster, Everrage. Having tracked Everrage's swath of destruction into the sewers, Exosteel has decided he's had enough of sneaking around and trying to follow his nemesis. He's sure that if he makes enough noise, Everrage will come to him. You can tell Exo's lost his cool because his left eye has lit up, which is another symptom of the disease.

As for the lightning hammer and the plasma pistol strapped to his hip, they are gifts from Exo's ally and teammate, Android ADAM, a super-intelligent artifical lifeform. Though they are powerful weapons, they are intended to make Exo less of a liability in battle, because if he never has to use that super strong left arm then there's no risk of that cryogenic armor cracking and the disease spreading at an accelerated rate.
